How to use the coin flipper

Tap Flip coin and a 3D coin spins for one second before landing on heads or tails. A running tally shows how many heads and tails you have flipped, which is a nice way to see that results even out over many flips while short streaks are completely normal. Use Reset to start counting again.

    More ways to decide

Switch tabs for other tools: roll up to six dice for board games or role-playing games, spin a custom wheel to pick who goes first or what to eat, ask a plain yes or no question, or draw a random number between any two whole numbers for raffles and classroom picks. The last ten results of every tool are listed so nobody can argue about what came up.

Is a real coin toss fair?

A physical coin is close to fair but not perfect: researchers have reported a slight tendency for a coin to land on the same side it started on. A digital flip avoids that, because each result comes from your device's secure random number source and is independent of the last.

    Tips

    Frequently asked questions

Is this coin flip really 50/50?

Yes. Results use your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with rejection sampling, so heads and tails are equally likely and every past flip has no effect on the next one.

Can I flip a coin offline?

Yes. After the first visit the page is stored on your device and works without internet.

How does the spinner wheel pick a winner?

A winner is chosen fairly at random first, then the wheel animates to land on it, so every option has the same chance regardless of how long its name is.

    What dice can I roll?

One to six dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 or 100 sides. The total and each individual roll are shown.

Is anything saved or sent anywhere?

Only your counts, wheel options and last ten results are saved in your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
